I am informed by the chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that responsibility for enforcement will depend upon the nature of the work carried on in any particular set of Post Office premises. Where the main activity carried on in the premises is listed in Schedule 1 to the Health and Safety (Enforcing Authority) Regulations 1977, the responsibility rests with the appropriate local authority.
