§ Mr. Arthur Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Social Services which persons over the age of 84 years in the case of men and 79 years in the case of women do not qualify for payment of death grant, as set out in Schedule 4, Part II, 2(d), to the Social Security Act 1975.
§ Mr. OrmeSection 32(5) of the Social Security Act 1975 provides that no death grant is payable in respect of the death of a person who had attained pensionable age—65 for a man, 60 for a woman—before 5th July 1948, when the present National Insurance Scheme began. Paragraph
