§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he has taken to improve the safety of home confinements in the light of the fact that the stillbirth rate for births at home was improving until 1970 and since 1970 it has risen.
§ Mr. MoyleIf a woman chooses to be delivered at home, despite the advice 315W against it, health authorities should ensure that the services necessary to make home confinements as safe as possible are provided. I shall shortly be consulting authorities and the professional bodies most closely concerned to see how this may best be achieved.
