§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThere are no official forecasts of the output of the ferrous foundry industry. As the overall economic activity of the United 265W Kingdom recovers, particularly in the engineering, construction and vehicle industries, so the overall demand for ferrous castings will increase, although the level of activity will vary between sectors of the industry and companies within sectors.
The Government's ferrous foundry assistance scheme, which is contributing towards expenditure up to 31st August 1980 on approved capital projects, is helping to put the industry into a better position to meet such an increase in demand.
