There are, however, some sample figures available on emigration from Scotland to countries overseas derived from the international passenger survey. Grossed-up estimates based on these sample figures are shown in the table below, as are figures of the number of patients on 241W doctors' lists moving from Scotland to the rest of the United Kingdom as recorded through the National Health Service central register.
