§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether his 294W attention has been drawn to the recent report of research by Dr. Boal of Queen's University, Belfast, on the respective success rates of Protestants and Roman Catholic children in the 11-plus examination; and if he will make a statement in order to allay the concern expressed in Northern Ireland about the results.
§ Mr. CarterMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has no detailed knowledge of Dr. Boal's research and does not propose to make a statement. I understand that the research was based on the numbers of pupils in certain schools who qualified as a result of the selection procedure. That procedure has now been discontinued.
