§ Mr. Lawrenceasked the Secretary of State for Employment what plans there are to operate the special temporary employment programme in (a) Burton on Trent and (b) the Uttoxeter area.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that plans for the operation of the special temporary employment programme—STEP—are currently being agreed for the areas covered by each of the MSC's area boards. Burton on Trent and the 31W Uttoxeter area are the responsibility of the board based at Wolverhampton, which would be pleased to have applications for STEP schemes from local sponsors.
