§ Mr. MoyleThe Government's expenditure plans set out in Cmnd. 7049 allow for an increase of about £140 million at 1977 survey prices in expenditure on the local authority personal social services in England over the period 1976–77 to 1981–82. The illustrative projection accompanying the recently issued DHSS planning guidelines suggested that over half of this increase might be allocated to development of services specifically for the elderly, the younger physically handicapped, the mentally handicapped and the mentally ill.
