§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list in the Official Report (a) the number of new orders placed for civil nuclear reactors, (b) the number of orders cancelled, and (c) the number of orders deferred, within the EEC including the United Kingdom, in each of the years 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977.
§ Mr. EadieI regret that the information cannot be provided for the EEC as a whole without incurring disproportionate cost. In the United Kingdom in the years concerned, no new orders were placed for civil nuclear power stations and none was cancelled. In 1977 a planned order for four gigawatts of steam generating heavy water reactor capacity was deferred; it has now been cancelled.
