§ Mr. Muddasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will convene a meeting of local authorities, trade unions and industrialists to seek urgent ways of reducing unemployment in Cornwall.
§ Mr. GoldingMy right hon. Friend has no plans to do so. Employers, unions and local authorities are represented on the Manpower Services Commission's special programmes area board covering Cornwall, which is actively engaged in instituting new measures to tackle unemployment in the area, especially amongst young people and the long-term unemployed.
