§ 29. Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the latest figures for house building in the public and private sectors; and if he is satisfied with the latest projection for future house building.
§ Mr. ArmstrongThe figures for March 1978 were published on 8th May. After seasonal adjustments have been made, there were 8,500 public sector starts and 10,800 completions in Great Britain. For the private sector the figures are 11,800 starts and 12,100 completions. The encouraging recovery in the level of private starts is being maintained. The public sector ones reflect the disappointing number of tenders accepted last year.
