§ Mr. MoyleThe mean waiting time for all joint replacement operations during 1975, the most recent year for which Departmental statistics are available, was 28 weeks. Separate figures for hip joint replacements alone are not available, but a one in 10 sample survey suggests that in 1975 they represented over half of the joint replacement cases on the waiting lists.
