asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Service men stationed with British forces in the Federal Republic of Germany there are in the following categories: (a) married with their wives and families with them, (b) married with their wives and families in the United Kingdom and (c) single.

In January 1978 the position was as follows:

  1. (a) 35,500.
  2. (b) 3,800.
  3. (c) 28,500.

These figures include West Berlin.
