Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many persons between the ages of 16 and 20 years and 20 and 30 years, respectively, are unemployed.

Mr. Golding

At 12th January 1978, the latest date for which the half-yearly age analysis is available, the numbers of unemployed people in Great Britain aged 16 to 19, and 20 to 29, were 274,822 and 464,647, respectively.

Mr. Lawson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will now provide the unemployment figures requested in the Written Question from the hon. Member for Blaby published in the Official Report, 7th April, column 263.
