§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Industry how many applications have so far been received for industrial development certificates for the speculative redevelopment of obsolete industrial factories outside the assisted areas under the scheme announced in February 1976; how many have been granted; and whether he will make a statement about the future of the scheme.
§ Mr. CryerUp to 28th February 1978, 52 certificates were granted for projects which met the criteria of the scheme for the speculative replacement of obsolete 231W factories in urban areas announced on 26th February 1976. No certificate has been refused for projects which met the criteria. I have no present plans to modify the scheme.
