HC Deb 04 May 1978 vol 949 cc209-10W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress is being made in the dis- pute between audio-typists and the Government of Hong Kong whether an independent arbitrator has yet been appointed; if so, whom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Luard

Nearly three-quarters of the staff involved have accepted the Government's terms. No arbitrator has been appointed. My right hon. Friend's officials remain in correspondence with the Hong Kong Government over the issues in dispute.
