HC Deb 04 May 1978 vol 949 c206W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what are regarded by his Department as the premium uses of electricity as a form of energy; and what installed capacity would be required to satisfy them in the United Kingdom at present levels of consumption.

Mr. Eadie

It is not practicable to define premium uses for electricity. Apart from those uses for which there is no available substitute, it will depend upon the particular needs and circumstances of individual consumers.
