§ Mr. EnnalsEstimates of the prescriptions dispensed in the family practitioner services for drugs in individual therapeutic groups are not yet available for 1977. However, 5,939,000 prescriptions for oral contraceptives were dispensed in England and Wales in 1976 as compared with 1,357,000 dispensed in 1974 for drugs that could be used for contraceptive purposes.
