HL Deb 02 May 1978 vol 391 cc168-9WA
Lord KENNET

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they are taking to ensure that coastal States have adequate jurisdiction to enforce internationally agreed standards and rules within their own territorial sea.

Lord GORONWY-ROBERTS

Questions of jurisdiction are the subject of negotiations at the Law of the Sea Conference. More widely, the Government support actively the implementation of all existing international conventions and any other measures to minimise the risk of marine pollution.
