§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will give for the longest and most convenient stated point of time the names and descriptions of citizens from Rhodesia who have been barred from entry into Great Britain; what were the reasons for such bars, and why Jeremiah Chirau was admitted into Great Britain in March 1978.
§ Mr. RowlandsI have been asked to reply.
The circumstances in which individuals resident in or connected with Rhodesia are subject to travel and passport restrictions were laid down in Mr. George Thomson's statement to the House of 27th June 1968. The details of those who are subject to restriction are confidential. Chief Chirau's visit did not fall within the scope of these restrictions.
