Mr. Rost

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will publish a table showing (a) the cost of energy consumed by each of the nationalised industries within his departmental responsibility, in each of the past five years, (b) the percentage change in energy consumption for each year, using 1973 as base year and (c) an estimate of the cash and percentage of energy saved as a result of conservation measures.

The average current cost of a Government car provided for Ministers and other right hon. Members is estimated at about £12,000 per annum. The other right hon. Members are those for Barnet (Finchley); Bexley (Sidcup); and Huyton. Information about individual cars is not available.
