asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is satisfied with the standard of health care provided by health authorities for people living in lodging houses and hostels since he issued advice in July 1976; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moyle

I am concerned that people living in lodging houses and hostels should

considerable initial cost, probably of the order of £150 million, because of the need to make advance payments of one week's benefit. By comparison, the continuing administrative savings to the Department would be quite small.
