HC Deb 23 March 1978 vol 946 c654W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether in the light of the fact that Arthur Bell and Sons has applied for a further large increase in the price of whisky despite its increased profits for the last six months of £7,800,000 he will now refer the case to the Price Commission for action.

Mr. Maclennan

No. Action on individual price increases is a matter for the Price Commission. I am asking the chairman to write to my hon. Friend concerning this case.
