§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how a person can obtain a passport if he has not been personally known for at least two years to a Member of Parliament, justice of the peace, minister of religion, lawyer, bank officer, police officer, doctor or person of similar standing.
§ Mr. LuardThe Passport Office has discretion to accept some alternative evidence of identity to faciltate the issue of a passport in those rare cases where an applicant is unable to obtain an acceptable countersignature.
