§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce the necessary amendments to current housing legislation to ensure that local authorities are not permitted to charge to the housing revenue account the whole cost of warden-staffed accommodation for the elderly, the maintenance of recreation areas the costs of community 326W halls and other facilities which are provided for the community as a whole.
§ Mr. ArmstrongI see no need for amending legislation in this matter. All the services and facilities mentioned are currently charegable to the housing revenue account only in so far as they benefit the tenants of HRA dwellings. If my hon. Friend has some particular difficulty in mind, perhaps he will write to me.
