§ Mr. William RodgersIn view of the need to increase public awareness of road safety problems and to formulate a fresh approach to them I have decided to convene a major Conference on road safety. It will be held in London on 13th-14th June and HRH the Duke of Gloucester has graciously agreed to take part. Invitations will be sent shortly to local authority associations, trade unions, consumer and motoring organisations, the police, trade associations, professional and voluntary bodies and others who have a significant personal contribution to make on the issue.
