§ 38. Mr Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will, in the light of his statement made on 8th March, give further details on the question of the repayment of vehicle licence duty for people who were misled by inaccuracies in the renewal form giving the actual or estimated costs to date; and what this will cost with the Press advertisements and other expenses to be incurred for repayment.
§ Mr. HoramTo date we have repaid £10 to each of the three complainants to the Parliamentary Commissioner in20W order to comply with his recommendation. The cost of Press advertisement is £44,200. I cannot say what the costs of claims and making repayments will be until the claims have been made.
