HC Deb 13 March 1978 vol 946 cc67-8W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the replacing of the Martinstown RUC station, destroyed by IRA terrorist attack, in view of the proposed sale of the old site and the recent IRA bombings in the area.

Mr. Mason

The former Martinstown police station was attacked by terrorists in May 1973 and subsequently had to be demolished. The provision of premises for the police is a matter for the police authority in consultation with the Chief Constable. I understand that he has indicated that he sees no requirement for a replacement station in Martinstown. The site is consequently being disposed of.
