HC Deb 13 March 1978 vol 946 c32W
36. Sir Anthony Royle

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the total of Government spending by the Hong Kong Government for the forthcoming year; and what proportion of this figure will be raised from additional taxes, increased borrowing or by calling upon Hong Kong's reserves.

Mr. Tomlinson

Total estimated expenditure by the Hong Kong Government for the financial year 1978–79 is HK$10,266 million—approximately £1,208 million—an increase of 26 per cent. on 1977. None of the revenue will be raised through additional taxes, borrowing or by drawing on reserves.
