§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish a table showing (a) the cost of energy consumed by services and buildings within his departmental responsibility, in each of the past five years, (b) the percentage change in energy consumption for each year, using 1973 as base year and (c) an estimate of the cash and percentage of energy saved as a result of conservation measures.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI refer the hon. Member to the reply being given today by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for the Environment to the similar Question about the Government estate generally, and to my reply to his Question on 2nd March—[Vol. 945, cc. 306–07]. I regret that further information relating specifically to the prison estate in the terms now requested cannot be obtained without disproportionate cost.
