§ Mr. Formanasked the Secretary of State for Energy what support, financial or otherwise, his Department is giving to research and development of the possibilities associated with wave energy from onshore installations.
§ Mr. EadieMy Department is at present giving no support to the development of onshore wave energy installations. The high tidal ranges experienced around the coast of the United Kingdom makes onshore wave generators very much less attractive than the offshore devices already under investigation and development.
