§ Mr. Ian Lloydasked the Secretary of State for Industry what steps he has taken to implement the recommendations of the Select Committee on the European Communities on Research and Development in the EEC with particular reference to R/1659/77 draft resolutions and decisions on a common policy in the field of science and technology.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldWhen the Report of the Select Committee on the European Communities was debated in another place it was made clear that the Government do not accept the Committee's recommendations regarding the three draft instruments included in R/1659/77—[Vol. 388, c. 1017–20.] I am taking no steps to implement these recommendations, which, in any case, relate to action at the level of the Community as a whole.
