§ Mr. FreesonSome 39.5 per cent. of all dwellings which are unfit or lacking amenities are privately rented. The expenditure provision on municipalisation and renovation is £514.8 million or 13 per cent. of total housing expenditure for England in 1978–79, rising to a provisional breakdown of the figures for the following three years to an average of about £540 million annually.
