§ 22. Mr. Stoddartasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has recently received concerning a reduction of the age at which men become eligible to receive State retirement pension.
§ Mr. OrmeWe have received representations from various sources seeking a reduction in men's pension age. A number of hon. Members have tabled Questions on the same point. Early-Day Motion No. 104, of which my hon. Friend is a signatory, also seeks such a reduction. In addition, a petition to lower the retirement age for men to 60 was recently presented to the House by my hon. and learned Friend the Member for Leicester, West (Mr. Janner).
