§ Mr. John H. Osbornasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire on the effect on the operational efficiency of the police force of the recent reduction of £0.4 million in its budget.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI understand that consideration of certain matters decided by the police committee was deferred at a recent meeting of the county council. I am assured that, if they are dealt with at the next meeting, the operational efficiency of the force will not be affected.
