§ Mr. Gerry Fowlerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in the light of recent course provision at Bridgnorth College of Further Education, she will give guidance to local education authorities on priorities for evening institute work.
§ Mr. OakesI have no present plans for such guidance. The provision of adult education is a matter for local education authorities to determine in the light of their assessment of local needs. They are already aware of matters such as adult literacy to which my right hon. Friend attaches particular importance.
