HC Deb 02 March 1978 vol 945 c375W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is his latest estimate of (a) the construction and equipment costs and (b) the running costs of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, together with the anticipated cost per bed.

Dr. Gilbert

The current estimate of the cost of building and equipping the hospital, including the associated staff accommodation and training school, is approximately £18.3 million. The estimated annual running cost of the hospital on completion is about £6.5 million, about 20 per cent. of which will be attributable to outpatient facilities. The annual cut per bed will be about £11,000.
