§ Mr. Englishasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking to provide up-to-date estimates on the extent to which families and individuals who are currently sharing their accommodation are satisfied with such arrangements.
§ Mr. FreesonThe Department's national dwelling and housing survey, for which the fieldwork has recently been completed, will provide up-to-date information on the extent of such sharing. To complement such information the Department has commissioned a small scale national survey of such households and families to provide more details of their housing situation and their housing preferences. This survey is being carried out by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys and will involve interviews at about 3,000 addresses in England.
