In view of changes in the scope of my Department's functions since the Directory of Paid Public Appointments was compiled, I am listing below all the Welsh public bodies to which I make appointments, together with details of the costs of salaries and fees; and also the expenses paid where such payments are made from Welsh Office votes.

Information on the academic achievements of school leavers in Wales this year will not be available for some months yet. The latest available information relates to the academic year 1976–77, and is as follows:

School leavers with A levels
(a)—3 or more A levels 3,210
(b)—2 A levels 1,955
(c)—1 A level 1,465

School leavers without A levels
(d)—5 or more O levels at Grade A-C† 3,600
(e)—1–4 O levels at Grade A-C† 11,390
(f)—Other CSE or GCE grades 10,325
(g)—No CSE or GCE qualifications 11,610
