asked the Secretary of State for Transport further to his written reply to the hon. Member for Macclesfield on 14th June 1977, if he will now publish the preferred route of the A.52 Barthomley link to the M6 motorway.

As indicated in my letter to the hon. Member of 23rd June, we hope to announce the choice of the preferred route later this year.
