Mr. Joan Evansasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make it his policy to encourage the creation of a Palestinian Arab State supported by a United Nations world district in Eastern Sinai, as part of a Middle East settlement, as proposed in a detailed study sent to him a year ago.
§ Mr. JuddThe Government understand and sympathise with the aspirations of the Palestinian people but, candidly, we see no practical prospect of securing international agreement to my hon. Friend's proposal.
