§ Mr. StrangLocal authorities and the police are responsible for enforcing the relevant legislation in Great Britain and the number of prosecutions for offences related to the export of live animals is not recorded separately. In Northern Ireland, where the relevant legislation is directly enforced by the Department of Agriculture, there have been no prosecutions in the first three months of this year, the latest date for which figures are available, nor were there any in the previous five years.
