asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he is taking to ensure that the Royal College of Nursing is recognised for consultation purposes by the Camden and Islington Area Health Authority.

Mr. Deakins

The Camden and Islington Area Health Authority (T) does recognise the Royal College of Nursing for consultation purposes, along with all other nationally recognised staff organisations.

I shall shortly be replying to a letter which the hon. Member addressed to my right hon. Friend about the situation at the Royal Free Hospital.
