§ Mr. Lawrenceasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many working days were lost as a result of diseases of the oral cavity over the latest 12 months for which figures are available.
§ Mr. MoyleInformation is available only for days of certified incapacity for work in connection with national insurance claims. These include Saturdays but exclude days for which no claim has been made because, for instance, the spells were very short or were in respect of married women who had chosen to pay reduced contributions.
In the year ended May 1975—the latest period for which figures are available—there were about 743,000 such days 291W where the cause of incapacity was a disease of the oral cavity.
I am sending the hon. Member a breakdown of this figure according to the various diseases in this group.
