§ 29. Mr. Newtonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is agreeable to the request of the Republic of Ireland that monetary compensatory amounts on cooked beef products should apply for trade between the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. BishopThe Irish Republic has been seeking the application of monetary compensatory amounts to its trade with the United Kingdom in cooked and canned beef. We have made clear our total opposition and the Commission has so far endorsed our view. We shall continue to resist any further bid for MCAs on this trade.
