§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he is satisfied with the industrial potential of the Clowne area during the next five years; and if he will initiate discussions with the Derbyshire County Council and the National Coal Board to promote industrial development at West Lea, Clowne.
§ Mr. CryerIntermediate area financial incentives are available at Clowne and there is land suitable for industrial development in the area. The possible purchase of a site at West Lea is a matter for the local authorities concerned and the National Coal Board, and I understand that discussions are taking place between them. If, however, these do not produce a satisfactory outcome, I am willing to assist in these discussions if either party should feel this will be of help.
