§ Mr. Hugh D. BrownThe April edition of the Building Societies Association's quarterly publication "Facts and Figures" showed that during 1977 societies lent £450 million in Scotland for house purchase and improvement. Net receipts amounted to £334 million and £83 million of interest were credited to depositors' accounts.
