The country expenditure totals include the British Council's United Kingdom costs attributable to that country. This expenditure is offset by Council revenue estimated at £8,312,000. In addition to this expenditure of £51,865,000 the Council acts as agent for programmes of Government Departments estimated to cost £32,940,000, and for international and other organisations of £9,121,000. The Council therefore runs programmes totalling £93 million.
