§ Mr. CarterYes. Under Section 1 of the Summary Jurisdiction (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (Northern Ireland) 1946, it is an offence for any person wilfully to enter upon any premises with intent wrongfully to take possession of or use such premises. This provision enables an owner to bring proceedings against squatters and subsequently to obtain from the court a warrant for possession of the property.
