Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is in a position to make a statement on the progress of negotiations with the Canadian Government on a reciprocal agreement on 539W retirement pensions which would enable Her Majesty's Government to pay retirement pension increases to British citizens resident in Canada on the same basis as reciprocal agreements allow them to do in 28 other countries.
